We’re all searching.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
– Matthew 11:28-30
Life is better when we follow Jesus together.
We Are Soma
We know life in the mountains is beautiful.
But it can also be lonely.
We do church differently
Sunday Gatherings
Connect
We gather together each Sunday to make much of Jesus, worship, pray, share stories, receive teaching, share communion, encourage and enjoy each other.

gospel Communities
Commit
A Gospel Community is not primarily a small group, bible study, support group, social activist group, or weekly meeting. But it does include these! Gospel Communities are smaller communities within our wider church where our members follow Jesus, together. Jesus called his disciples to follow him together. They ate together, played and prayed together, celebrated together, and did life together. We are called to do the same. You could join one!
DNA Groups
Go deeper
Go deeper and grow more into the person God made you to be. In a group of 3 girls or guys. Discover who God is and who you are in him. Nurture one another’s hearts to heal, grow and believe. Act upon what you discover together by encouraging each other to live these things out.
Pastors
For over 30 years Dave has enjoyed growing christian communities and helping christians mature in Christ. He is excited to help and see people take on their giftings and passions, and use for them for the Kingdom of God. Dave planted Soma Blue Mountains 14 years ago alongside a vibrant team. He studied at Moore College. Married to Glenda, they have 4 children and 11 grandchildren. Dave is a big Barcelona supporter and enjoys running in the Blue Mountains.
Toby is all in for seeing the gospel of Jesus transform people’s lives. He loves to get alongside people, hear their stories, and point them to Christ. Toby is originally from South West England, but has lived in and loved the Blue Mountains for almost a decade. He is married to Annie, with 2 daughters. Toby studied at SMBC. He’ll always say yes to a coffee (or a cup of tea), loves skateboarding, and loves to create – whether from timber or with a guitar.

We are a community following Jesus spread across the Blue Mountains
We believe the Gospel of Jesus is good news for today, and our desire and ambition is to follow him together for the renewal of the Blue Mountains and beyond.
We are part of a global family of churches called ‘The Soma Family of Churches.’ Soma’s passion is for every woman, man, and child to encounter Jesus through his people.
We are affiliated with the Fellowship Of Congregational Churches.
Soma has adopted the Lausanne Covenant as our statement of faith.
In addition to this, Soma has 10 Distinctives. We’re tired of division based on what we’re ‘not’ or what we’re against. Instead, we want to be known as a family of churches that defines itself by who we are and what we’re for.

If you would like your children to participate in any of these ministries, please make sure your child is signed in electronically each Sunday with the assigned leader or helper. Please also give the leader or helper your phone number and keep your phone on you, so you can be contacted if needed.
